SCOTT LEWIS JOINS ON DRUMS
January 9, 2017
2016 was an eventful year for the band and we want to extend the warmest and deepest of thanks to each of the five different guys that helped US keep the beat going all year behind the drum kit. As much as we have loved jamming with all of these great players, we are very happy to announce that Scott Lewis (Big Daddy Love, Jackass Flats) has joined the band. We are beyond excited to be making music with Scotty, look for new tunes and a new vibe in 2017!

NC STATE FAIR PERFORMANCE ANNOUNCED

The North Carolina State Fair released its full music schedule for the 2016 State Fair. Urban Soil will be closing out the main outdoor "Waterfall" stage on the final day of the Fair on October 23rd.
URBAN SOIL WINS RUNNER UP AT FLOYDFEST

Urban Soil nabbed the runner up win at this year's "On the Rise" competition at FloydFest '16. As part of the prize package the band will make another appearance at the 2017 event
FLOYDFEST APPEARANCE ANNOUNCED

Urban Soil successfully navigated the first round of the FloydFest "On the Rise" battle of the bands competition to secure a berth on the FloydFest 16' Dreamweaving Music Festival bill. The band will also perform at the Floyd Fandango Beer Fest at the festival grounds on June 25th, 2016.

Christmas Jam by Day performance is annouced. Urban Soil will perform at the One Stop in Asheville NC as part of the 27th annual Habitat for Humantiy Benefit Concert.

Urban Soil is back at Bongo John Studio to record our sophmore release. This album is yet to be titled but is slated to have ten tracks including all of our new tunes for 2015! Look for a fall release.

UPCOMING RADIO INTERVIEWS
January 5, 2014
The band is scheduled to appear and perform live on the airwaves twice in the month of January. First, on January 16th, will be an in studio at WCOM in Carrboro. Next is on 88.1 WKNC in Raleigh NC. Both appearances will be directly before shows that evening at Steel String Brewery and Tir na Nog, respectively.

The band is set to spread holiday cheer all over the state for the next couple of weeks with shows from Wilmington to Boone! It all gets going 12/26 at Brewballs in Burlington followed by Ziggy's in Winston on 12/27. We'll keep it going into 2015 with a New Years run that will take the band to 4 new (to us) venues in a row: Hannah's Haus, The Calico Room, The Red Room and Murphy's, in that order. We'll see you at the shows!
"LIVE FROM DEEPWOODS" set for NOV. 29th Release!

On Novemeber 29th a limited run of live cd's will be released. "Live from Deepwoods" is a companion album to this year's debut album "Dig Deeper". It will feature two previously unreleased tracks. Also being released is a new music video for the song "Gotta Go". The single was recorded and the video produced by Lucid Reality Productions Studio in Raleigh.
